The Analysis of the Issue of Madd and Qaṣr in Ibn al-Jazarī’s Ṭayyiba al-Nashr

This study examines Ibn al-Jazarī’s poetic work named Ṭayyiba al-Nashr fi al-Qirā’at al-ʿAshr, which is about qirā’at al-ʿashr, and reviews the sections of the text: “bāb al-madd wa al-qaṣr” about madd and qaṣr. Before the analysis of the relevant sections, general information is provided about the author’s life, scientific travels, works, his place, and importance in the science of qirā’at is emphasized. Then, his work named Ṭayyiba al-Nashr is discussed and explanations are made about the content of the work. Finally, the madd and qaṣr sections of the work are analyzed and the author’s approach to the subject, and presentation to the reader are examined. In this context, the concepts of madd and qaṣr are explained within the framework of the relevant couplets, and the subject is aimed to be understood more readily by describing the types, sizes, and levels of madd according to the ten qirā’at imāms and narrators. It is undoubtedly of great importance for researchers of the science of qirā’at and tajweed that Ibn al-Jazarī presents such a difficult and controversial subject by giving examples from time to time and condensing it into only 13 couplets as a whole.

Bu çalışma, İbnü’l-Cezerî’nin Kırâât-i Aşere’ye dair Tayyibetü’n-neşr fî’l-kırââti’l-ʿaşr isimli manzum eserinin med ve kasr ile ilgili “bâbü’l-meddi ve’l-kasr” kısmının tahliline yönelik bir incelemedir. İlgili bölümün tahlilinden önce müellifin hayatı, ilmi seyahatleri ve eserleri hakkında genel bilgi verilmiş ve kıraat ilmindeki yeri ve önemi vurgulanmıştır. Daha sonra Tayyibetü’n-neşr isimli eseri ele alınarak eserin muhtevası hakkında açıklamalarda bulunulmuştur. Son olarak eserin med ve kasr bölümü tahlil edilerek müellifin konuya yaklaşımı, ele alışı ve okuyucuya sunuşu incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda ilgili beyitler çerçevesinde med ve kasr kavramları izah edilmiş ve on kıraat imam ve râvilerine göre meddin çeşitleri, ölçüleri ve mertebeleri açıklanarak konunun daha kolay anlaşılması hedeflenmiştir. İbnü’l-Cezerî’nin böylesi zor ve ihtilaflı bir konuyu yer yer örnekler de vererek kısa, öz ve bir bütün olarak yalnızca on üç beyte sıkıştırarak sunması hiç şüphesiz kıraat ve tecvit ilmi araştırmacıları için çok büyük önem arz etmektedir.
